If you are installing X6, you will have to install it manually. Open Microsoft Word and look for the EndNote X7/X8/X9/20 tools in the ribbon. Word 2016: Go to the EndNote tab and select the 'Tools > Convert to Unformatted Citations' command. Open Microsoft Word and check for the EndNote X8 tab in the ribbon. Type the text you want to display on the ScreenTip in the endnote.

Installing X7 will add the EndNote submenu automatically. Once EndNote is the active window, open the library of interest (if it is not already open).

Endnote X7 and X6 are compatible with Microsoft Word 20.

You need to have Microsoft Word installed on your computer before you install EndNote.
